Why Temporary Tank Decommissioning Needs Regular Monitoring?

In a Temporary Decommissioned Site, you need to continuously monitor the tank which is kept filled with water or fuel. It is because these tanks may create pollution and bring risk factors for the environment. Hence it is always advised to bring a permanent closure to them as soon as possible. You can leave a tank on the site permanently only when the Environment Agency are sure that there are no risks to the environment, soil or underground water.
